Opera Saratoga - Opera to Go presents: Pinocchio @ Saratoga Springs Public Library | Saratoga Springs | New York | United States

Opera Saratoga  “Opera to Go” program is pleased to announce its 2013 production of Pinocchio! Based on the children’s literary classic by Carlo Collodi, the music of Donizetti, Mozart, Offenbach, Pergolesi, Sullivan, and Verdi sets the tone for this whimsical opera about a young puppet-boy’s adventures.

Opera to Go brings fully staged, fully costumed operatic performances to more than 40 elementary schools each year. Using familiar stories and characters like Pinocchio helps students connect with the performers while introducing them to the operatic art form and all its components – the drama of the acting, the artistry of the hand-painted sets and costumes, and the striking musical ability of Opera Saratoga’s professional opera singers!

This is a ticketed event. To reserve your free ticket(s), call the Saratoga Springs Public Library 518.584.7860. There is a maximum of 6 tickets per reservation.

The 2013 Opera to Go Tour is sponsored by Stewart’s Shops, The Bender Family Foundation, Berkshire Bank, Price Chopper’s Golub Foundation, Waldo T. Ross & Ruth S. Ross Charitable Trust, Target Foundation, CSEA, Friends of Opera Saratoga, Stewart’s Holiday Match, WGY Christmas Wish, and North Country Printing & Graphics.
