Our experience at Allegro Music Studios

I took Angie my four year-old to Allegro for a private piano lesson with instructor Meghan.  Angie, who tends to be nervous in new situations instantly felt at ease and comfortable.  Meghan was extremely patient and so encouraging!  She offered tons of helpful practice techniques and definitely made learning piano fun and kept Angie’s attention the whole time.  I would not hesitate to bring either of my kids to Allegro for lessons and we will probably start Angie this summer.  (she has mentioned wanting to go back multiple times!)  Allegro Music Studio

Allegro Music is offering camps for Summer 2015!

  • Experience Music Camp (Ages 5-11)

This camp is fun for everyone! Whether you are completely new to music or an accomplished player looking to explore other instruments, this week will be very rewarding. We will dabble in a bit of everything, including rhythm, notation, theory, history, timbre, and much more. Students will end the week with a short performance and a scrapbook of the things that they have learned.  July 6-10.

  • Modern Music Camp (Ages 7-18)

What’s your favorite song?! The focus of this week will be collaboration. Students should come prepared to share their talents with their friends as we work together to play in small and full-camp ensembles. Beginners are welcome as well seasoned performers, and anything you want to play (within reason) will be made possible! This camp is all about playing the music you love!  July 13-17.

  • Musical Theatre Camp (Ages 8-18)

Do you like to sing, dance, or act? If you said yes to any of these, this is the camp for you! Students will collaborate to put on a show over two weeks of camp. Along the way they will also develop their acting, improvisation, singing, and dancing skills. With a small cast, each student has an opportunity to be in the spotlight. Students will partake in the set design and construction, and supporting roles within the show can be designed for shy students. This two-week adventure allows staff to tailor your child’s experience to their desires, ensuring that they will have the most fun possible.  July 20-31.

  •  Piano Camp (Ages 5-11)

A weekly lesson will never be enough time to discover the many wonders of the piano world! This week allows students to delve into history, technique, repertoire, performance practice and other essential skills. It will culminate in a short performance and students will leave with a tangible record of the knowledge they gained. Above all, this week will be a ton of fun!  August 10-14.

  • Piano Camp (Ages 12-18)

For those looking to further their piano studies, this is the camp for you! Staff will teach advanced level theory, history, repertoire, technique, and performance practice. Excerpts of works from each major time period will be studied. Students will take a music theory pretest and be separated by experience level to ensure that they are challenged appropriately.  August 17-21.

I played alto clarinet all throughout middle school. I was terrible but that did not stop me from sharing my “music” with my parents: over, and over, and over!

  4. My husband currently takes violin lessons. My daughter turns five soon and is determined to play the piano so she can make beautiful music with her Daddy.
