Baby Boot Camp stroller fitness is here and starting Monday, January 9th in Clifton Park, NY at Clifton Park Center! I chatted with Britta Hogue, local mama, personal trainer, and Saratoga County business owner of Baby Boot Camp to get all the details. I’ll be attending class on January 9th, and I’d love for you to join me there!
What is Baby Boot Camp and who is it appropriate for?
Baby Boot Camp stroller fitness classes are designed specifically to help moms get fit. It takes the place of a personal trainer at a time in your life when you need one the most by combining strength-training exercises with cardio drills. Moms are no longer
required to hire a personal trainer and a babysitter to get back in shape. While at the same time Baby Boot Classes balance the fitness needs of moms with their desire to spend time with their baby. The stroller, resistance tubes (and even your child!) are used as an integral part of the workout.
Baby Boot Camp classes are designed to accommodate the needs and abilities of all! Pregnant clients, newly postpartum moms as well as conditioned or athletic moms and their stroller age children. Consult with your doctor before starting any exercise program.
What can moms expect from the class?
With regular attendance, Baby Boot Camp moms will jump start their weight loss, strengthen their abdominals, have improved posture, feel their energy increase and enjoy the camaraderie of other moms. Classes even combat the baby blues, research shows that participating in a stroller exercise program over a 12-week period can reduce feelings of depression and improve physical fitness. How did you get started and what’s your background?
As a single mother of one, now a teenager, I have struggled with my own weight over the years and know firsthand how hard it is to balance all the responsibilities that come with parenthood. I have always had an enthusiasm for fitness but it wasn’t until 2008 that I became a Certified Personal Trainer through National Exercise Trainers Association (NETA) after seeing a training class offered at a local gym. As I participated and learned about this field I realized this was not just an interest it was passion.
Last August I happened to come across an internet article on a Baby Boot Camp franchise and instantly fell in love with their mission and core values and knew that Baby Boot Camp was not only a perfect solution to help moms get back in shape without the guilt but also would provide me the pleasure of working in a field I love.
What to know before coming?
Please eat a nutritious breakfast and bring a snack especially if you are nursing.
