Gluten Free Mom’s Review of Good Morning Cafe

Robin Morgan is a great ‘mama’ friend, and my go-to gal for all things food and nutrition.  Robin has been living gluten free for over a decade  and is the co-creator of  One of our most favorite breakfast spots locally is the Good Morning Cafe in Ballston Spa.  Here’s why…

Review of Good Morning Cafe

To me, a good morning is successfully getting myself dressed, my son to school on time and remembering to turn off the stovetop.  However, I consider it a GREAT morning if I have time to stop at the Good Morning Cafe in Ballston Spa for breakfast or lunch.

Interior at Good Morning Cafe

Open for a little more than a year, Good Morning Cafe has been dedicated to featuring healthy, delicious, freshly prepared breakfasts and lunches.  Good Morning Café uses local, organic and fair trade food sources whenever possible, so you know that what you are eating falls into the “good for you and your soul” category.

To top it off, the proceeds from certain menu items go to some terrific causes, which makes Good Morning Cafe a truly unique place that not only serves amazing food, but “does good” while serving it.

With a friendly vibe and colorful decor, it’s a family place that offers something for everyone – even if you are gluten free, vegetarian or vegan.

Good Morning Cafe Breakfast

With standard menu items like gluten-free pancakes (dairy free too!) and veggie hash, there are a variety of menu choices that support most dietary restrictions.

Although it isn’t an exclusively gluten-free kitchen, the staff takes great care to prepare gluten free items while avoiding cross-contact with gluten.  While there are many local restaurants that have gluten free menus, the extra effort and attention to detail make Good Morning Cafe a step above on many fronts.  They source homemade gluten free bread from Saratoga Gluten Free Goods, so ordering toast with some fabulous homemade jelly is now an option for me.  Hurray!

I highly recommend this place for families, business meetings, and gal pal get-togethers.  If you’re like me, you’ll be compelled to invite your friends in one by one until you’re almost certainly going to run into one of your companions dining at the next table on your next visit.  In fact, SaratogaMama, Colleen Pierre dropped in the day I went in to do a little pre-review dining 😉

If you haven’t already checked this place out, you really need to do so.  Good Morning Cafe is a gluten free gem and a fantastic place to be a regular diner.  Their menu and mission are all available online at
