Are you Tuff eNuff… for a police chase?
If you’re a runner, or just up for a good time, the Tuff eNuff Challenge was announced recently – it’s a 5K run for the Prevention Council that’s happening May 19th. You even get money for best costume – so you know it’s not the typical run. Details can be found here.
And I don’t know if you were on the roads late Monday, but if you were you might have noticed that the on-ramp to the Northway North from exit 15 was closed – that was because there was a high speed chase and the driver crashed in the area, so they decided to find him. Too bad, that would have been a fun chase to watch. Maybe?
Saratoga YMCA Joins LIVESTRONG
On a happier note, the Saratoga YMCA has been chosen as a part of the LIVESTRONG program, which offers people affected by cancer a supportive environment to “participate in physical and social activities.” [TU]
Megabus, Mega Beats!
If you want to take a trip to the city (Manhattan) or up to Burlington, it’s never been cheaper – Megabus is now including Saratoga in that route. Search megabus for route details and times. I believe the departure time is quite late to get to Manhattan, so it might not be a trip to take with the kids…
But speaking of kids (and if you feel like planning ahead) the Fresh Beat Band will close out the summer Season at SPAC on Sept. 3. Rock out with your preschooler.
If you want to get in shape before track season, though, (and don’t feel like going to the Y), a Planet Fitness is set to open at Wilton Mall on May 1.
Other than that, the warm weather came in March and then went away. Hopefully the remainder of this month will prove to be nicer weather.
Amanda King lives in Saratoga Springs, NY like (hopefully) a majority of you readers, but loves travel. She’s been to more countries than she is years old, but is, at the moment, quite content to stay firmly planted in upstate New York. Feel free to follow her on Twitter at @strictlytoga – though be warned, sarcasm does occur…when she manages to actually tweet.
