As the school year comes to a close, there can be many mixed emotions, especially if your child had an exceptionally great teacher this year. If you’re like us, it’s tough deciding what to do for teachers to show them how much we appreciated all of their hard work throughout the year. We’ve asked our readers and gathered some great ideas for end of the year gifts!
Make a Card
Many teachers love hearing “thank you” especially from their students! Have your child make a card to give their teacher on the last day. Be specific and be sure to have them include their favorite thing from the school year!
Sweets and Treats
There are so many options for specials treats in our area! You’ll definitely be able to find some great gift ideas at Village Sweet Shoppe in Ballston Spa, Joanne’s Candy, The Candy Company, Coccadotts Cake Shop, Healthy Living Market and more. Berrylicious Bouquets always make great gifts too.
Gift cards might seem impersonal, but they are totally appropriate for a teacher gift. The more you know your teacher, the more specific you can get. If you’re really unsure, Amazon, a mall gift card, or a coffee spot would work fine.
Plants or Flowers
Who doesn’t love fresh flowers or house plants as a gift? Sunnyside Gardens is our go-to spot for plants. Not sure what to get? A gift card would certainly be appreciated!
Make a Donation
Chose a local charity that you know your child’s teacher would be interested in, and make a donation in their name.
Have your child chose a book or a game for the classroom, many teachers love having a classroom library for their students and games to play for indoor recess or free time! Check out some of the book options at Barefoot Books and games at G. Willikers!
