Get ready for another exciting season of our fun-filled Gorilla Basketball & Gorilla Soccer programs! Don’t miss the fun! These programs are for children ages 4 through 6 who have little or no playing experience. Children learn the fundamentals, including dribbling, passing, and shooting, in a fun and relaxed environment. Coaches teach the basics of the game by utilizing drills and small scrimmages. Each participant will receive a soccer ball or a basketball.
Programs run Sundays, September 21 – October 26, and are limited to 15 participants each. Pre-registration is required and is going on now. The event will feature 60 different wines as well as menu tastings from Forno Bistro, Chianti Ristorante, Pasta Pane and Boca Bistro. All proceeds will be donated to Kaitlin’s Korner, an inclusive playground coming to Saratoga County and a place where children of all abilities can come and play as one.
Corks, Cuisine & Colors is open to the public. Attendees who are not DZ Restaurant Preferred Guest members can sign-up on the day of the event. The $10 donation to support Kaitlin’s Korner is suggested, but not required.

Trunk or Treat 2014 will be held on Sunday, October 26, at Crandall Park in Glens Falls from 2PM to 4PM.
There will be a costume parade for candy and treats at 3PM. (5th grade and under)
Admission is $1 per person that will be donated to benefit WARM THE CHILDREN, a regional drive to provides new winter clothing for the children of needy families, run in the Glens Falls Region by the Post Star.

We are excited to announce a very special Faculty Recital and Art Auction to be held on Sunday, October 26th at 4:00pm. You won’t want to miss this beautiful variety show which will emphasize all that we teach at our school in Music, Dance, Theatre and Art, as well as some of the favorite things our professional faculty enjoys performing and creating outside of school. This event is also a special way for us to highlight our Student Scholarship Program intended for graduating seniors going onto higher education as well as for exceptionally gifted students participating in our fine arts program.
Animal Protective Foundation will be featured in our Raising Dough Program at Pasta pane on October 26th. Scary Story Night 2014 at Ndakinna Education Center
On this dark and scary Sunday in late October, we’re proud to present the Fifteenth Annual SCARY STORY NIGHT. This evening of spooky Native tales will be hosted by the well-known storytelling trio of Joseph, James, and Jesse Bruchac. The first performance will focus on stories that may be a bit frightening, but not too scary for smaller children.
The second performance will include some truly terrifying tales, including readings from Joseph and James Bruchac’s best known books. The event will also include our annual pre-carved Pumpkin Contest. Ages 12 and under may vie for prizes in the following categories: Scariest, Most Original and Funniest Jack-o-Lanterns. Parents are invited to bring in their child’s pre-carved pumpkins by 6:30 pm for judging. Stories will be held outdoors for the second half, so dress for warmth. In case of inclement weather, the event will be held strictly indoors. Light refreshments will be offered including cider, cookies and donuts.
Are bats and owls really that spooky? Join us to learn about “spooky” animals and create some nature-inspired Halloween decorations to hang up around your home! Come show us your creative side at the pavilion by Delegan Pond. Preregistration is suggested.

Wilton Wildlife Preserve & Park will be presenting a program where children can learn about these “spooky” animals and create some nature-inspired Halloween decorations. The program will be presented on two different days, Saturday, October 25 at 1:00 pm and Monday, October 27 at 4:00 pm. The program will take place outdoors at the pavilion by Delegan Pond so please dress appropriately.

Tuesday for Tots is a neat drop-in program at the Children’s Museum at Saratoga. Tuesday for Tots is every Tuesday from 10 a.m. -12 p.m. and 1 p.m – 3 p.m and is free with museum admission.
This is a special time for younger visitors to gain preschool readiness skills in a fun and social environment. Drop in anytime for playdough, crafts, games and friends!
Malta Farmers Market is back for its third year! This year’s location will be in the north end of the Allerdice ACE Hardware parking lot at 2570 Route 9.
This season’s market will feature a dozen farms and vendors bringing vegetables, apples and berries, plants and flowers, cheese, meat, poultry, eggs, baked goods, prepared foods, and a knife and garden tool sharpening service. The market will be open every Tuesday afternoon from 3 to 6 p.m., through the end of October.

The Hug a Tree and Survive program teaches children how to survive in the woods should they become lost. This program is appropriate for children ages 6 to 12, and lasts approximately 45 minutes. The program includes a video and demonstrations. Each child receives a survival pack with their own safety whistle. This program costs $5 per student. Please call (518) 584-2000 Ext. 116 to register.
Now that you’ve had your baby, you probably find yourself asking a lot of questions about what activities you should be doing with your baby in the midst of feedings, diaper changes, spit ups and restless nights. Or maybe you’re asking questions about what your baby should be doing developmentally at 2 months, 3 months, and so on. In this developmental movement class for baby and caregiver, we will explore aspects of parent/caregiver bonding, vestibular system development, visual and auditory stimulation through gentle play and song, developmental patterns leading to sitting, variations on tummy time, and baby massage. Each class incorporates gentle aspects of physical yoga for both baby and caregiver, including breath, forward bend, side bend, chest opening, balance, stillness, and alignment. For babies 6 weeks to rolling/pushing backwards.

Fall-friendly soup is on the menu for this great after school class! In this class, Chef Shannon will introduce your child to the wild world of winter squashes. From Delicata to Hubburd and Kabocha to Butternut, these beauties come in all different shapes and sizes. Kids will make use of all those delightfully different squashes, chopping and stirring their way to creating a wonderfully warming curried squash soup and topping it with cinnamon-y croutons.

Games, refreshments, prizes and of course candy will all be a part of the Calvary Capital District (CCD) Church annual harvest party! The fun begins on Friday, October 31 from 6 to 8 pm. This event has become a tradition for many families, providing a warm, safe and fun alternative to trick-or-treating. The event is FREE and open to all ages.

Nov. 1: Tubular Art
After discussing Taylor Davis’s sculpture Da, can ye no tell and André Cadere’s sculpture Untitled in I was a double, we will make sculptures using tubes as our base, then adding colors and textures.
The fall Family Saturdays program begin Oct. 11 and run through Dec. 13. Most activities run from 2 to 3:30 pm and include a brief tour of a museum exhibition followed by a hands-on art-making activity. The programs are suitable for children age 5 and older and their adult companions, and all materials will be provided. Details on each week’s program are below. Due to the popularity of the programs, reservations for one week’s program can be made beginning one week before that program by calling the Visitors Services Desk at 518-580-8080.
