March 2nd is Dr. Seuss’ Birthday! The NEA celebrates his birthday each year with Read Across America day, which is on Friday, March 1st this year. When I was teaching this was one of my favorite days at school, it was amazing to see how excited the kids got about reading and sharing their favorite books. We’ve gathered some resources to help you celebrate this fun day with your kids!

Seuss Cam-iphone App , found on The Techy Teacher. The app is $1.99, available on ipod, iphone or ipad and can be found by searching Cat Cam.
Learn how to Draw Dr. Seuss Characters at Activity Village. You will find directions for Cat in the Hat, The Lorax, Thing 1 and Thing 2, and the Grinch.

Snacks

Sweet Dr. Seuss Snack, use green M&M’s and melted white chocolate to create these “green eggs” from Random Thoughts of a Supermom.

Create these Cat in the Hat Cupcake Toppers from So Domesticate, with gummy life savors and white frosting.

Cat in the Hat Jello Snack, from Bless this Mess.
