Summer is creeping up and it’s time to start thinking about summer camps! There are lots of area Saratoga summer camps featuring everything from art, music, horse riding, science, sports and so much more. The Malta Montessori School offers a summer program for ages 3-6. The program is which is designed to be a fun, relaxed and interesting environment where the children have a hands-on learning experience. It is not necessary to be enrolled in the Montessori school to attend the summer camp programs. Four 2-week sessions will be offered this year, and parents can choose half day, full day or add extended care if needed.

Kids in the Kitchen.
The kitchen themed camp will allow students to create their own dishes while incorporating a variety of lessons, from math to food history. Children will have a unique activity in the kitchen each day, from baking treats to mixing smoothies. They will also work to create their own cookbook based on their cooking throughout the camp.
Bugs and Gardens
Bugs have an important role in ecosystems, and even within a home or school garden. This camp will provide children an opportunity to study and learn about a variety of bugs. Children will develop their understanding through a variety of tangible topics, including why do bugs exist? Why do they like flowers? What do they like to eat? What color are they? Do the help or hurt our gardens? Children will have a chance to use their imagination to create buggy crafts, play buggy games and read buggy stories!
Little Scientists Camp
Children will have an opportunity to learn about science principles in their daily environment and through basic experiments in this camp. Each day, students will explore a different concept, from air and water pressure & movement to fun, but safe chemical reactions between baking soda and vinegar. Each young scientist will participate in experiments and record observations in their very own science notebook, and gain a better understanding of how things work in our world.
Ancient Greece and Olympics Camp
Explore the wonders of Ancient Greece as we discover ancient art, architecture, mythology and the original Olympics for two weeks this summer. Children will learn about the culture and trades during this time period through a variety of activities. Students will have the opportunity to make their own pottery and jewelry, as well as experience archaeology by having their own experience to dig for artifacts. Additionally, students will learn about Greek gods and goddesses and their wonderful tales of adventure.

About Malta Montessori: The Malta Montessori School was established in 2006 and is experiencing a wonderfully successful fourth year full of growth and development of our programs. Malta Montessori currently enrolls children from the ages of 3 to 6 years for both Pre-K and Kindergarten as well as ages 6-9 (1st-3rd Grade) for our newly expanded Lower Elementary class. Come join the fun this summer at Tiny Tots Early Learning Center! Summer camp for pre-school age children (4-5 yrs) will be offered during nine weeks this summer, school age children (5-7 years post kindergarten) will be offered for 9 weeks four days a week. In addition we will be offering 6 weeks of preschool (3-5 years) afternoon camp (4 days a week) and 6 weeks of Tot Camp for 2-3 year olds (3 days a week).

Fun themes have been carefully designed so your child will have many rich and varied activities to stimulate his/her growth and development while attending a part day independent camp. In addition to the themes and weekly descriptions below your child will enjoy circle time, music, movement, art, cooperative games, story time, and a nutritious snack each day.

In a Bugs Life- The buzz about town that this will be fantastic! Join us for a weekly adventure full of nature’s wonder and beauty. We’ll discover the insect world through nature walks, finger plays, stories, crafts, educational materials, and bug nets!
Week #2 July 9th-12th (Preschool Camp, School Age Camp, Tot Camp)
Pirates and Princesses- Join us as we enjoy a little royalty! We will broaden the imaginations of young adventurer’s by building our own castle; engaging in a real treasure hunt and breaking open a piñata! Imaginations will come to life with dramatic play, music, art, dress-up, and much more.
Week #3 July 16th-19th (Preschool Camp, School Age Camp, Tot Camp)
Water All Around Us- Our most popular week is back again for another SPLASH! Join us as we explore the wonderful world of water with our hands, feet and all five senses. We’ll pour, measure, freeze, melt, splash, mix, spray, and create. Let’s get wet! Please provide your child with a swimsuit and towel each day. We recommend applying sunscreen daily prior to camp.
Week #4 July 23rd-26th (Preschool Camp, School Age Camp, Tot Camp)
Under the Sun and Sea- We’ll learn about sea creatures and aquatic life that’s always on the move. We’ll introduce the wonders of our oceans and beaches through experiments and our sensory tables. Campers will enjoy their own luau complete with homemade Hawaiian skirts, leis, and island snacks. The island awaits us!
Week #5 July 30th-August 2nd (Preschool Camp, School Age Camp, Tot Camp) Cooking and Creations- During each class our mini chefs will create their own healthy snack and a fun food art or concoction. Children will decorate their own apron and they will make their own chef’s hat to wear during class and then take them home at the end of the week. This class will broaden taste buds, enhance creativity, encourage socialization and reinforce early math skills.
Week #6 August 6th-9th (Preschool Camp, School Age Camp, Tot Camp) Let’s Camp Out! - Campers will explore nature and the creatures of the forest! Bring a sleeping bag, blanket, pillow or whatever it takes to enjoy our tent time! That’s right, tents set up daily for our creative campers to enjoy!! Using themed art projects, nature hikes, games like “flashlight tag” and snacks that’ll include s’mores and mud cups with worms. Where will your woodland imagination take you?
Week #7 August 13th-16th (Preschool Camp, School Age Camp) Raiders of the Lost Artifacts- (fossils and minerals) an exciting week of exploring the remnants of a forgotten time and minerals of today. We’ll experience our earthly treasures through exploring both indoors and outdoors. Using experiments, crafts and our own digging site we will uncover the excitement of fossils and the beauty of rocks and gems! Campers will get to decorate their own treasure box and bring home their own special minerals!
Week #8 August 20th-August 23rd (Preschool Camp, School Age Camp)
Space! This is a unique opportunity to expose our campers to the beauty of outer space and all its splender! Children will learn about the planets and their characteristics, the stars, astronauts and what gravity is. They will enjoy making their own planet, constellations, rockets and even space age crystals! If you child loves science or has an interest in outer space this is a great week for them to attend. Please note…girls love space too!!
Week #9 August 27th–August 30th (Preschool Camp, School Age Camp)
Growing School Skills- We saved this theme for the end of summer to prepare your child for “back to school”. Children learn by seeing and doing. This class will provide your preschooler the opportunity to learn how to write their name, sign and sing the alphabet song, learn their colors, shapes, numbers, and various animals. Through circle time, music, different art mediums and centers your child will be exposed to a fun and exciting early education setting where learning and socialization will be fostered in the most nurturing way. Whether you child is starting preschool, nursery school or kindergarten in September, this class is sure to give them a jump-start!
Premier Dance is offering both evening dance workshop classes and day camp programs.
Day Camps offered this year are Fairytale Camp, Hip-Hop & ACRO Camp, and Musical Theater Camp. Day Camp programs run from 9am-1pm and are for ages 5-12. Each week is $150.
Dance Workshop is offered on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings from July 16th thru August 17th . These are traditional classes in many different disciplines like tap, jazz, ballet, HIP-HOP and more….These classes are great for the recreational dancer looking to keep up with their skills and try something a little different from their normal fall class and for the pre-professional dancer to keep up on their technique and skills.

We will explore the fairytales of all our favorite princesses and movie characters. Each day they can come dressed as the princess of that day. We will dance to the music of our princess and read the stories of them as well. Their will be arts and crafts each day to go along with our fairy tale theme that day.
Hip-Hop & ACRO Camp
July 23rd thru July 27th
In this jam packed week we will work on the many different styles of hip-hop/street funk dance. All music is family friendly and appropriate as well as the dance movements taught. A portion of the morning will be for prop building or other arts and crafts to go along with out routines that we will be working on. the other portion of the day will be for tumbling and floor acrobatics. We will have 2 spotters and will start off the week with the basics and work our way up to more advanced tumbling skills. We are able to accomodate both the beginner and experienced tumblers.
Musical Theatre Camp
presents..“Wizard of Oz”
August 6th thru August 10th
Follow the yellow brick road over the rainbow with Dorothy, Toto, Scarecrow, Tin Man and the Lion as they journey to the land of Oz. Along the way they will sing and dance to classics such as “If I Only Had a Brain”, “Mean Ole Lion” and “Somewhere Over The Rainbow”. There will also be acting components involved throughout the week as well and incorporated into our mini Qizard Of Oz production at the end of the week. We will work on arts and crafts and props as well to go along with out theme.

At Camp Little Notch, girls ages 7-17 can attend a one, two, or three-week session and participate in challenging and fun activities such as rock climbing, creek walking, arts and crafts, nature study, canoeing, hiking, primitive camping, and sleeping under the stars. Camp Northwoods offers an exciting program of sports, cultural arts, nature study and relaxed play for children entering grades 1-6.More Info
The program draws on the rich and varied resources of Skidmore College and the surrounding area. The camp’s home base is Flastaff’s Pavillion on the Skidmore College campus, but campers frequent the Williamson Sports Center, Schick Art Gallery, Tang Teaching Museum and Art Gallery, and Zankel Music Center. The daily enrichment activities led by the qualified staff are supplemented by weekly field trips to recreational and historical sites, and visits by special guests.
Children entering grades 1-6* will also enjoy activities that include arts and crafts, ceramics, games, hiking, and daily swim time. Our goal is to provide a variety of fun activities that happily challenge the imagination, intellect, and body. We hope you will join us this summer.

Saratoga Arts offers a unique summer camp experience for children ages 5-14 who love to learn about and create art. Week 1: 7th-9th graders, June 25-29, 10am-1pm
Learn about artists that have gone before you, from Monet and VanGogh to Kandinsky. We’ll have a look at art through the ages as we move from realism to abstraction, all in one week!
Week 2: K-3rd graders, July 9-13, 10am-1pm
Exploring the wonderful world of illustration, we will begin each day with a story time to get our creative juices flowing! Afterwards, we’ll talk about how the illustrations were made and make some of our own! This will be a fun and exciting week full of mixed materials and inspired approaches!
Week 3: 4th-6th graders, July 16-20, 10am-1pm
This fun-packed week will take you on a cultural journey to create projects from illuminated manuscripts to Aztec suns!
Have FUN and EXPLORE your creativity in clay this summer!
We are offering 16 diffferent, week-long, sessions this year. Each session is half-day, either morning or afternoon. Come have fun and explore the world of clay. Learn a wide variety of techniques including: Pinch pots, slab projects, simple pieces on the wheel, as well as, glazing and firing techniques. With a maximum of 12 kids per session, you’ll receive both group and individual instruction at your own skill level. Beginners are welcome. Our experienced instructors will offer patient encouragement and guidance to make your experience both magical and exciting. Open to all skill levels ages 7 – 16.

British Soccer Camps provide players of all ages and abilities with the rare opportunity to receive high-level soccer coaching from a team of international experts. You may choose to attend day camp for one week or any combination of weeks.Experienced counselors will supervise children and a ratio of 1:10 ensures a safe, quality camping experience. Wilton Recreation offers a 7 week summer camp program for children in the Wilton Community and surrounding area. Wilton Recreation summer camp is NY State Inspected.
We offer four separate age groupings:
- Pioneers, for those entering first and second grade.

- Trail Seekers, for those entering fifth and sixth grade.
- Trackers, for those entering seventh through ninth grade.
Campers may chose from three separate programs:

We use leaf shape and bark to identify trees and we look at the animals that make their homes in our trees. we see how important trees are in the products we use every day.
Session 3 – July 24-27- Earth, Wind and Water
These elemental forces affect us daily. we focus on the effects of these forces and the opportunities for conservation.
Session 4 – August 7-10 – What’s Growing in the Garden?
From farm to table. we watch how food transforms from seed to delicious food. We get our hands dirty in the garden and clean them up so we can cook in the kitchen!
Session 5 – August 14-17 – It’s Hip to be Square!
We study all things geometric. We explore through movement, math manipulatives, art and nature.
Session 6 – August 21-24 – A Hundred Things to Do
We can challenge our minds and bodies by doing things in 100s. We can count, jump, make patterns and set records.
Schauber Stables offers a unique riding camp opportunity for children between the ages of 5 to 14. We also offer “counselor-in-training” program for children from the ages of 13 to 17 years.

This Malta Parks and Recreation Department FULL day Summer Camp is held at the Malta Community Center. This NYS Health Department licensed program is well supervised with professional counseling staff. This program is open to children entering Kindergarten through Fifth grades in the fall of 2012. Participants will enjoy summer days packed with fun activities such as sports, crafts, games, movies, library time, nature and character building activities. In addition, campers will participate in swimming one time a week, one field trip per week and trips to local parks at no additional cost!

Registration begins on February 13th and ends on June 8th. There will be no late sign-ups available and fees are non-refundable after June 8th. (One week fees are non-refundable at any time.) Registration packets will be available at the Malta Community Center and on the Town’s website at www.malta-town.org. You must register in person. In order to register you must provide a current immunization record from your child’s doctor, proof of residency and proof of legal guardianship, when applicable. Space is limited to a maximum of 55 participants, so register early!
The Summer Program is conducted at the BACC facility, surrounding community areas and local attractions. BACC Day Camp offers eight one-week sessions of summer day camping for children ages 5-12 years of age.
