Strictly Saratoga’s Weekly Wrap-Up: Obama, Whole Foods, Derby

Goods News Brief: Obama in Malta, Whole Foods in Albany

President Barack Obama comes to MaltaI’ve heard it ’round the water cooler that Obama is going to be in Saratoga – GLOBALFOUNDIRES in Malta – on Tuesday. (Get your fangirl on?) He previously visited HVCC and GE.

And for those who have been longing for a Whole Foods in the area (like me) then you have your prayers…but not until early 2014. In response (probably) to the Trader Joe’s opening in Albany, Whole Foods has announced that they are opening a location in Colonie.

Kentucky Derby meets Cinco de Mayo

If you’re a horse fan, then this weekend is for you – it’s Derby Day, and a whole lot of places locally are having Derby Day events – and specials to go along with it. Annnd on top of that, it’s Cinco de Mayo this weekend. So, double bar weekend?

Honestly, I’m more excited about the Farmer’s Market opening.

Enjoy your weekend!
