So it’s June. Which means there is quite a bit more going on, or at least there should be. And I don’t know if you noticed a couple more motorcycles downtown this week…but it is Americade up in Lake George. Brace yourself for the roar of the engines down on Broadway. And Putnam Market closed earlier this week to construct…wait for it…a cheese room.
Saratoga Grand Openings
There are a few grand openings coming up. Saratoga Paint & Sip Studio (which has been open for the past several weeks) will be having their grand opening June 16th at 6PM. Boca Bistro (another DZ restaurant, this time tapas-ish) will have their grand opening the 12th. I’ve also heard that the Thirsty Owl is opening up a tasting room on South Broadway (please, correct me if I’m wrong!)…or rather, that the building is currently under construction.
Saratoga Arts Fest & DMB All weekend
SaratogaArtsFest is going on this weekend, too – so go check it out! In terms of artsy things to do (and walk around town with the family, assuming the weather holds) is an Art Fair over on Beekman on Sunday, pretty much all day along with Kids Do Art at Universal Preservation Hall.
You may also want to avoid going to Ballston Spa in the evenings Friday and Saturday – or go a back way. Dave Matthews is playing at SPAC. Yup, it’s that time of year again. But hey, if you have tickets, go enjoy. If DMB isn’t quite your type, the “Upbeat of the Roof” series at the Tang is Friday with local-turned-Brooklyn-band “Railbird”.
Anyway, things are starting to gear up for summer – though you wouldn’t know it with the rain we’ve had lately. Get out and enjoy the weather this weekend, though!
